Accessibility and Trails in Nova Scotia
At NS Trails, we believe trails should be enjoyed by all. We’re committed to working with the trails community to identify and reduce barriers to trails. At the NS Trails AGM in 2019, our guest speaker, Gerry Post, Executive Director of the NS Accessibility Directorate, laid out a path forward for NS Trails and the trail community to establish a focus on accessibility. Through this vision and work, we can positively affect the well-being and personal outcomes of our communities.
Gerry Post, Executive Director of the NS Accessibility Directorate, speaks on the Accessibility Act and trails at the NS Trails AGM in 2019.
NS Trails continues to work closely with the Accessibility Directorate to establish accessibility standards for trails. Our designate to the Built Environment Expert Panel, Rick Jacques, brings many years of trail building, management, design and maintenance expertise to this ongoing work. This page will continue to be updated as work and consultations progress.
