About Us

NS Trails is a volunteer, membership-based registered charity, a resource for trail stakeholders, and a forum to facilitate the cooperative building, maintaining, and enjoyment of trails in our province. Our vision is a diverse and vibrant trails community in Nova Scotia that works respectfully and collaboratively so that all Nova Scotians and visitors have easy access to safe and enjoyable trail experiences.

Support Our Trails!

We encourage those who enjoy the benefits of recreational trails in the province to support the work of NS Trails and our member groups by making charitable donations to NS Trails online via Canada Helps by clicking the Donate Now button. You may designate your donation to assist a specific member community trail group by adding this request to the instruction box when filling out the form online. You may make a one-time donation or monthly contribution. We gratefully accept donations of any denomination. Our online partner Canada Helps will email your tax receipt upon completing the online donation process. We truly appreciate your support!

Become A Member

Join us as a member and your organization will gain access to a wide variety of trail resources, information and services including insurance, advice and support on trail construction and maintenance, information on funding opportunities, and inclusion in our charitable program. Please check out the different categories below and fill out the appropriate application form.

Individual Membership

$20 +HST
Individual members are generally trail enthusiasts who are interested in knowing what events and activities are taking place on trails throughout the province. Individual members are added to our email list to receive regular updates and are encouraged to join our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter.

Community Group Membership

$200 +HST
Community group members are community-based volunteer non-profit societies registered with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies. In order to qualify for community group status an organization must be solely dedicated to trail development, maintenance and management.

User Group Member

$200 +HST
User group members are provincial organizations that are dedicated to promoting the interests of a specific user trail user group (i.e. Hike NS, NSORRA, etc.).

Associate Member

$200 +HST
Associate members are trail stakeholders who don't fall into the other categories listed above (i.e. government organizations and other organizations who have an interest in trails in the province).
