INTERNATIONAL TRAILS DAY is always the first Saturday in June.

The idea was cooked up decades ago by two Nova Scotia Trails volunteers, Dave and Holly.
This year Saturday June 1, 2024 is INTERNATIONAL TRAILS DAY.
You could go to Australia, or Europe, or well, anywhere.

Come Celebrate with us 10 am at 256 Bissett Road, The Program Building, Cole Harbour Heritage Park. We will take a walk through the Park. Talk about what is planned for the Rehab Property across the road, the Salt Marsh, the turtles, ecotherapy, volunteering, safety concerns, invasive species concerns, whatever …
We would like to have like minded groups join us at the Program Building 256 Bissett Rd, Cole Harbour. Join in the conversation promote or find out about – host a talk inside the program building.

Well, we are celebrating INTERNATIONAL TRAILS DAY!
We thank the great many volunteers, landowners, trail developers, walking, hiking and riding enthusiasts and groups for their help in developing, maintaining and promoting the many beautiful trails throughout Nova Scotia.
What Can You Do?
– Go for a hike or bike on International Trails Day
– Support Parks and Trails. How? Volunteer with or Donate to your local community trail group – for example www.chpta.org
– Tell your hiking story on social media, follow your trail group via social media.
Groups and Organizations:
– Host a trail event on International Trails Day
– Invite people in your community on a guided hike
– If your group manages a trail, hold a volunteer trail maintenance day
– Post your event on social media
Spread the word! Enjoy the Parks and Trails everywhere and support them in order to keep them.
It is going to be a great day. Rain or Shine.
