SUMMARY:Wild Places\, Wild Faces: The Elements
DESCRIPTION:They’re back and we couldn’t be more excited! \nOn Tuesday\, January 23\, 2024\, father and son duo Scott and Trevor Haldane will once again hold an online photography presentation and fundraiser – their third one! – in support of Trans Canada Trail. Plan to join in the fun from 7:30 to 9pm Eastern (8:30 to 10pm AST). Admission is by donation of any size. \nWild Places\, Wild Faces: The Elements will showcase wildlife\, landscapes and stories from across Canada. This is the third edition of their photography fundraising event and the theme this year is the elements: Earth\, Water\, Ice and Air. \nYou will see locations on the Trans Canada Trail throughout the presentation so keep your eyes open! \nBy showcasing their beautiful photos over the last several years in support of Trans Canada Trail\, Scott and Trevor have raised thousands of dollars. They have inspired nature lovers across the country to make a donation and we are thankful for their support. These funds are vital\, helping to keep the Trans Canada Trail open and accessible for all. \nScott and Trevor have first-hand experience in knowing that we all benefit from being outdoors – clearing our minds of everyday distractions\, moving our bodies while surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature\, and discovering new things about the land beneath our feet. The Trans Canada Trail is a place that benefits our physical and mental health as we connect with others while discovering Canada’s incredible landscapes. \nScott and Trevor want to give back and are hosting this fundraiser for Trans Canada Trail. Nature photography is one of several great reasons for Canadians to get out on the Trail\, as they can benefit from time spent in the great outdoors and meet people along the way. With your support\, we can keep the Trail accessible to all! \nPlease register here: https://ow.ly/9I5050QqKCy

SUMMARY:HNWTA Nine Trail Challenge - Mill Run Trail
DESCRIPTION:We are back and want to show you the 9 trails we manage in the Northwest section of HRM. \nMost of our trails are rated Easy with some slight elevation change. Read about each of the trails in the brochure here.\nDress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes that can withstand mud puddles. Bring your water bottle and a light snack. We walk in most weather conditions unless the trail will be hazardous.\nNo registration necessary\, just come and bring your friends. \nMill Run Trail:  This 700 m trail is a combination of gravel trail and sidewalks. A metal bridge crosses the outflow from the dam and ends at Scott Saunders Memorial Park. \nLink: Mill Run Trail Information

SUMMARY:Saturday Morning Beginner Fat Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:It looks like we may even have some snow on the ground for this week’s adventure. As always\, these adult rides focus on the skills\, distance and intensity based on those new to FAT BIKING but welcome riders of all levels of experience to join our inclusive\, social bunch. With snow expected to remain on the ground our ride will explore shorter distances and more bike handling techniques this week but be prepared for some “on the fly” route decisions as we determine conditions that morning. I do have rentals available in a full range of sizes to fit riders from under 5’ to 6’4” or more…at a special rate of $25/bike for the morning session from 9am-11am. If you have never tried fat biking and are wondering if this would be something you’d like to try\, give us a call at (902) 531-3026 or send us a message on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/sweetridecycling). A minimum fitness level and experience on any kind of bike will increase your enjoyment factor tremendously.
